Senator John Hoeven announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded more than $48.6 million in support of Project Tundra, a carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) effort led by Minnkota Power Cooperative. The funding is being awarded to the DCC East Project in Grand Forks.

Senator John Hoeven announced a $5.1 million award to advance carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) monitoring at the Great Plains Synfuels Plant. The monitoring and sequestration project, which is being led by the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), is key to the development of commercially-viable CCUS.
