Bison Low Carbon Ventures Inc. has completed commissioning operations for the Phase 1 facility at its Meadowbrook Carbon Storage Hub near Legal, Alberta. The project is the first carbon capture and storage hub in Alberta to enter service and is licensed for up to 500 kilotonnes of CO₂ injection annually.

Bison Low Carbon Ventures Inc., as operator for and on behalf of the Meadowbrook Carbon Storage Hub, announced that it has received D065 scheme approval from the Alberta Energy Regulator for the Meadowbrook Project on February 19, 2025. Subject to satisfying the terms and conditions of the approval, the project is positioned to commence operations before the end of 2025.
