The signing of a memorandum of understanding between Santos, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (JX) and ENEOS paves the way for a joint feasibility study that will evaluate the potential to capture, transport and sequester emissions from Japan, supporting expansion of the Moomba CCS project.

Santos with support from Tokyo Gas, will evaluate the potential to produce e-methane for export to Japan, leveraging extensive existing infrastructure. Tokyo Gas is an integrated gas and power company, serving more than 12 million customers.
