Heidelberg Materials North America announced that the Government of Canada has committed to finalizing negotiations on a Contribution Agreement for the groundbreaking Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) project.
NeoCarbon, a leading developer of Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, and Carbonaide, a pioneer in carbonization technology for the production of precast concrete, announced a partnership to efficiently capture CO2 from the atmosphere and permanently store it in concrete. This will significantly reduce carbon emissions in the building and construction sector. The aim is to deliver high quality carbon removal credits, with the first delivery expected in 2025.
RHI Magnesita, MCi Carbon, the Austrian Institute of Technology, and the University of Technology Sydney will receive funding for the CCUPScale project, for which Newcastle based cleantech startup MCi Carbon will receive AUD $3.29m.
Five projects will help establish test centers to cost-effectively research and evaluate technologies to capture and convert carbon dioxide into products from utility and industrial sources or remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Messer has commissioned a new plant for the production of green CO2 at its Vrdy site in the Czech Republic. This will increase the security of supply for Messer's customers, such as the local food and beverage industry. This is particularly important in the summer months, when the demand for carbon dioxide for soft drinks or cooling technologies is particularly high.
