Equatic announced the appointment of new leadership, laying the foundation for continued growth and momentum. The appointments represent a new chapter of growth for Equatic, as it prepares to launch the world’s largest ocean-based carbon removal plant and tracks toward carbon removal for less than $30 per ton by the end of the decade.
Carbon removal company Equatic, with Canadian carbon removal project developer Deep Sky, announced that engineering has commenced on North America’s first commercial-scale ocean-based carbon dioxide removal plant. This plant will remove 109,500 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and produce 3,600 tons of green hydrogen per year.
Equatic emerges from the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering’s Institute for Carbon Management with a carbon dioxide removal agreement from The Boeing Company.
