Carbon Clean, a leader in revolutionizing carbon capture solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AGRA Industries, an established leader in the design, fabrication and complete construction of turnkey facilities. Under the strategic partnership, AGRA Industries and Carbon Clean will collaborate to provide Carbon Clean’s semi-modular CaptureX technology to companies in agriculture-related sectors, including the production of biofuel ethanol and sustainable aviation fuels.
Carbon Clean’s CaptureX technology is proven across 49 sites globally and prefabricated, with 80% of the solution modularized and containerized. This substantially reduces on-site activity and installation time compared to open-plant construction. AGRA Industries provides a single source solution for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in multiple markets, including corn and soybean seed, animal feed, biomass pellet, and bio-based fuels.
The collaboration will enable customers to capture CO2 released during the biofuel fermentation stage, enabling the production of fuels with a lower carbon intensity (CI) rating. This will enhance biofuel producers’ ability to claim Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) credits such as the 45Z clean fuel production and 45Q tax credits.
Aniruddha Sharma, Chair and CEO of Carbon Clean, said: “Carbon Clean’s collaboration with AGRA Industries is a win-win for biofuel producers. Customers will benefit from the expertise of a leading agricultural engineering specialist and our modularized, innovative carbon capture technology that is cost-effective and simple to install. Biofuels are already renewable and by installing efficient carbon capture technology, producers can cut their carbon intensity still further and become full participants in the circular economy.”

Pat Hinner, President of AGRA Industries, said: “AGRA Industries is excited to bring over 60 years of general contracting experience and partner with Carbon Clean. With Carbon Clean’s expertise and technology, and AGRA’s experience in design-build skid modularization, together we can make a positive impact by reducing carbon emissions.”
AGRA Industries’ decades of specialist experience, combined with Carbon Clean’s deep expertise in modular carbon capture technologies, will provide a compelling one-stop-shop for the US biofuels production sector.
