Nationally there are 81 projects under regulatory review with a total of 246 wells. These projects and wells were located by owners and operators to make use of valuable pore space for long-term storage and to locate near large-scale emissions sources.

Air Liquide and Cementir launched a joint decarbonization project, named ACCSION. Located in Aalborg, Denmark, ACCSION will be one of the first full onshore Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) value chains in Europe. Air Liquide and Cementir Holding Group’s project ACCSION has been selected by the European Commission to receive 220 million euros in project support under the European Union (EU) Innovation Fund.
Altera Infrastructure announced that the STARFISH project, a part of Altera Infrastructure’s broader Stella Maris CCS initiative, has been awarded up to EUR 225 million in grant funding by the European Union (EU) Innovation Fund.
Senator John Hoeven announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded more than $48.6 million in support of Project Tundra, a carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) effort led by Minnkota Power Cooperative. The funding is being awarded to the DCC East Project in Grand Forks.
